Environment projects set to get an extra boost with the launch of EMR Jersey Community Fund
EMR Jersey (The Waste Metals Facility), based at La Collette Recycling Park, St Helier, is calling for community fund applications following the relaunch of its Community Fund.
EMR Jersey’s Community Fund supports green initiativies which enhance the environmental quality of life on the Island.
From September 20th, local charities and community groups can apply for funding for their sustainable projects. The fund supports anything from litter picking and tree planting to local community clean up events and the creation of habitats to improve biodiversity.
Kerri Thomas, Depot Manager of EMR Jersey highlights why it’s important for EMR to support the local community in protecting their environment:
“At EMR sustainability and environmental protection are at the heart of everything we do and we pride ourselves in supporting our local community in enhancing the environmental quality of life on our Island.
“Many local community groups have the passion and dedication to make a positive environmental impact in their local area, but unfortunately do not have the backing. With this fund we hope to help as many charity and community groups as possible reach their sustainability goals.”
